Last Kiss – My Favorite Lyrics Saturday, Apr 21 2007

In this hit song from Pearl Jam a teenager(most prob) talks about the accident he and his girl friend  run into and how in the midst of this mayhem and chaos he gives his last kiss and realizes his love for the girl  who  soon dies. Very senti, read for yourself.

Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

We were out on a date in my daddy’s car
We hadn’t driven very far
There in the road, up straight ahead
A car was stalled, the engine was dead
I couldn’t stop, so I swerved to the right
I’ll never forget the sound that night
The screamin’ tires, the bustin’ glass
The painful scream that I heard last.

Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

When I woke up, the rain was pourin’ down
There were people standing all around
Something warm rollin’ through my eyes
But somehow I found my baby that night
I lifted her head, she looked at me and said
“Hold me darling just a little while.”
I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss
I found the love that I knew I would miss
But now she’s gone, even though I hold her tight
I lost my love, my life that night.

Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.
Oooh~ ooooh~

Class Over Saturday, Apr 21 2007

Yesterday unceremoniously came to an end the last class of my college degree, it was followed by some autograph signing on T-Shirt and Shawls. And top it all the last class was the most excruciating of the long classes I have ever attended, 2 hours of unending torture in the name of CAPSA followed by 3 class test. Unfortunately for me I had taken the aisle seat and had to take the full torture first hand; It was like some one torturing u for information and I was not even sure what information he needed. Thanks deveme I came out of all this in a single piece. 4 more exams and will be out of here with a designation Er before my name.

Our project review and general proficiency was held this week and both went better than expected. The project was completely last minute work; though we had a year to research and slog for the project we had procrastinated till the last minute to do most of the stuff; like report making and printing of the report, the preparation for the presentation commenced only 2 hour before the actual final review started. Anyway not much Ques were asked by the externals and everyone ended up satisfied. On the other hand the general profeciency review was a pleasant surprise in itself – the topic asked was completely in my fav turf ie general quiz.. ahh never had a more delightful inteview. I was suprised that the teachers knew so much about different places and culture especially about south India , I had always thought of them to be ignorant when it came to general awareness. Well some of the question  asked were:

1) Name the Keral minister in centre who always borrows his clothes when he goes for foreign trips.
a) Our very own Defence Minister A K Antony

2) Name any controversy the present CM had been in?
a) credos are too communist blah blah…

3) Who is the Prez and PM of IRAQ?
did’nt know this one

4) Abu Dhabi is the capital of which country?
a) UAE

5) Name 2 places in Iran and Iraq?

6) Name the present CM of Karanataka?
a) Dev govda’s son ; dont rem his name, some swamy…

7) Name the different ethnic( and religious) groups in Iraq?
a) Shias, Sunnis, Kurds

8) NAme the major river in Bagdad?
a) tetthiss or something of that sought /….

Don’t know why teachers are such a penchant for the middle east…

One day in clg… Thursday, Mar 29 2007

Bang, Bang – the bang on my door to which i now usually wake up too. It was MUD banging to wake me for my 9:30 class. My attendance was already running below 75% cup off in Communication so had made sure someone wakes me up. Thought here the peak winter has descended there was that uneasy chill, the one that makes u too lazy to take a bath but a little hot to wear a sweater to class. So ended up just washing my head and sprayed some deodrant – the normal routine for most of us boys. Had a fast breakfast and made a run for the class and reached there only after the teacher had arrived.

Now as far as Communication System class goes, the fact is this teacher’s monotonous somniferous lecture has been known to put the most chronic insomaniac among us to sleep. 5 min into the class the regular pattern was repeating- Vej already slumed into deep sleep, Cham and Abhi involed in their own number game, Ashi taking snaps(what he does with this I dont get), Arun trying best to get the attention of the fairer sex, me and other backbenchers busy reading the new college magazine tucked under the copy. The only time everyone comes to attention is when the teacher starts callling the rolls(I may not be speaking for the entire class, there are some gals who Sleep Books, Eat books, Live books) . There was only 2hrs class in all during the first half, retuned to hostel to mess and attended 2 more hours of class after that.

Afer the class went to the TPO, as usual he was equivocating continuously – this might come now, or then, should that come-damn it he does that too often. Sometimes I really wonder why I took the responsibility for T&P. Returned and took a nap(seems this is the only thing we guys do regularly) and watched movie till 1AM. Now busy preparing for the seminar I have to give tomorrow, its 2 in the night and am yet to take off with the seminar. And yet here I am tucked away in the singlet room in Mani Mahesh Boys Hostel rumbling along not bothered about the impending doom that might befall if i miss the seminar deadline again.

Some HACKS for every1 Saturday, Mar 24 2007

********************************

Dear Readers from pradeepc.wordpress.com ,

do eNJOY

****************************

Given are come of the hacks I have used to get into a PC.Most of these stuffs I have tried successfully at one point of time.

1) To get through the BIOS password, open the cabinet and remove the BIOS battery from the case(it is the big button battery near to the bios) and reinsert it after some five minutes. This is done to discharge the residual power in the BIOS. Restart and you will be through the BIOS directly now.(PS: NOTE DOWN THE SETTINGS OF THE BIOS B4 DOING THIS.)

2) To get through XP password: This cannot exactly be called a hack, its more of taking advantage of the user’s carelessness. Here switch on XP in the safe mode and type LOGIN as ‘administrator’ and press enter for password. Now you can enter XP Safe Mode, now if u want to create a new user account go to CREATE USER and make a new account. This works most of the time because the user usually forgets to puts an administrative password while installing XP.Hacks

3) There are a couple of commands in DOS for refreshing the BIOS password. These stuff stuff works only on windows earlier than XP where direct DOS boot was allowed. Sorry I don’t remember any of the commands now.

4) Using LINUX live CD’s: This is one of the most efficient techniques I have come across. Here get one of those LINUX direct to boot Operating System (LIVE OS) CD and boot the Windows drive directly from the CD. The disadvantage here is that u wont be able to manipulate or change files, just reading and copying is allowed. I have done this using KNOPPIX live CD only. You can download them free online of can order for your own free UBUNTU LIVE CD here. https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ (I havent tried this yet using ubuntu but it ought to work.)

5) Use Keycopy software to copy all the keys typed in the PC including passwords. Plenty of them are available online for free.

6) Snadboy- A miracle software that converts the password written in ‘*’ into normal characters. This is very useful even though this does not work in HTML pages. Download it from here http://www.snadboy.com/

These are the only stuff I remember now, if anyone want to add any stuff to these please do leave a comment.

DISCLAIMER : I am not an hacker, I am just a overeager careless laymen who frequently forget his PC’s password and had to use these methods to retrieve them. Please dont use this info with malicious intend.

Random Rumblings Thursday, Mar 8 2007

I was reasoning why some one would read the crap I have here. Firstly i am not popular nor do I have a blogging niche in my college or among my friends neither am I very good with words, why. Maybe the unsuspecting reader must have been lured here from one of the comments I left at their blog or maybe through the wordpress random list, and there are many souls- my stats show about 200 ppl in about 20 days. Well now that you are here and reading this please do leave a comment or add me to your blogroll, alas why should u suffer alone.

The mid sem holidays just got over last week and must say it was completely boring. Most of the students had left for the their home while the unfortunate ones like me whose home are far away have to suffer in solitude. I was frankly beginning to loose my mind, in fact a couple of days I went for 30 hrs continuously watching movie without any sleep nor food.Anyway now am glad classes have reopened. Occasional bunking is more fulfilling than long holidays.

The countdown going on in my class reads 56 days for degree to end and its begins to the forefront another dilemma- what to pursue after this. I have no more appetite for technical education nor do i want to live other peoples life by going abroad. Now the option has narrowed down to two – take the IT job u like in kerala or slog out in north in the better paying job in my core field, I have been weighing the pros and cons for long and am yet to come to a conclusion. Anyway before I bore u with any more or my egoistical rumblings I should get back to my movie. TATA

Vivekananda’s Frog Story Friday, Feb 23 2007

I had heard this story for the first time 3 yrs back from one of my friends. This story has many versions. The version here is the one that Swami Vivekananda told the world as part of one of his speeches at the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago on 15th September, 1893.

Once upon a time, there lived a frog in a nice, deep well. It had lived there for a long time. It was born there and brought up there. This frog, every day fed on the worms and bacilli that lived in the water of the well, and became a fat frog with a lot of energy.

Well, one day another frog that lived in the sea came and fell into the well. Our well frog asked the sea frog, “Where are you from?”

“I am from the sea.” Answered the sea frog

“The sea!” exclaimed the well frog, “How big is that? Is it as big as my well?”, and he took a leap from one side of the well to the other.

“My friend”, said the sea frog, “how do you compare the sea with your little well?”

Then the well frog took another leap and asked, “Is your sea so big?”

The shocked sea frog exclaimed “What nonsense you speak, to compare the sea with your well!”

“Well, Well,” said the well frog, “nothing can be bigger than my well; there can be nothing bigger than this; He then shouted, “this fellow is a liar, turn him out.”

Swami Vivekananda told this story to explain why it was that people in this world are unable to live at peace with one another. It is petty differences like these that we human beings are unable to resolve, which then causes hate and divisiveness.

I mean isn’t the story really meaningful. Aren’t we frequently closed up in our old religious, regional, Linguistic, Nationalistic…etc ‘well’ and refuse to acknowledge or understand what is out there?

happy valentines maggi Thursday, Feb 15 2007

My school lunch always consisted of noodles, everyday all 200 working days when other people dug into their delicious luncheon I would be skimming through my lunch hoping it would be something else. This has created in me a deep abhorrence for everything that comes under the brand name Maggi, the 2 min shit that tormented me in my school days. So yesterday when I was invited for a choumin party at the newly open Nescafe cafe I was more than reluctant, well then thought will try it as long as its free..Must say the oven boiled noodles are better than i used to think it tasted. Had tried it a couple of times after that too and must say am getting addicted.

Has been spoiling myself a lot these past 2 weeks, have got over the holiday inertia even now. A week more and the mid sem holidays will be up. Sleeping 12 hrs a day, watching 4 movies/day and missing class for the whole day is’nt anything new now. Attendance is barely in the border levels, god save me…

Happy valentines day everyone…
